En 30 films, la sélection du Festival International du Court Métrage de Lille prend le pouls de notre monde tout en interrogeant son histoire. À travers une diversité de formes (documentaire, fiction, animation, expérimental), chacun de ces films témoigne d’un geste cinématographique singulier.
À l’heure où la guerre ravage des territoires et des peuples, le cinéma nous invite à prendre du recul sur ce qui nous entoure : donner à voir celles et ceux que l’on ne voit pas, observer notre société depuis les métavers, saisir la beauté sur de vieilles pellicules, s’émouvoir d’un désir amoureux si difficile à dire.
Les films nous rappellent aussi l’absurdité du monde et en appellent à notre conscience politique. Gardons les yeux ouverts, cultivons les liens qui nous unissent et souvenons-nous que No land is empty : aucune terre n’est vide.

Spanning 30 films, the selection for the Lille International Short Film Festival takes the pulse of our world whilst examining its history. Through a variety of formats (documentary, fiction, animation, experimental), each of these films showcases a unique cinematic vision.
At a time when war is ravaging lands and peoples, cinema invites us to take a step back from our surroundings: to bring into view those we do not see, to observe our society from within the metaverse, to capture beauty on old film, and to be moved by a romantic longing so difficult to express.
The films also remind us of the absurdity of the world and appeal to our political conscience. We must keep our eyes open, nurture the bonds that unite us, and remember that “No land is empty”.
